Because of some health problems, I haven't been swimming. Because I haven't been swimming, I've been having some health problems. It's an awful vicious circle, but it clearly demonstrates how essential swimming is to my physical and mental well-being, not to mention my online persona of swmmrgrrl.

That said, it was a fine swim considering I haven't been in the water to February. I'm most grateful that no matter what kind of shape I'm in, no matter how much time has passed, that I can hop into a swimming pool and swim a kilometer without much effort at all. For the same reason, I'm also confident that I'll be able to hop into the canals in Copenhagen on August 29th and swim 2km like I did the past 2 years.

I saw a couple of my geriatric swim idols in the pool. These are the wrinkly ladies in their 70's and 80's who clearly don't give a fuck about how their bodies look, but are interested in how their bodies work, and are out swimming because they clearly enjoy it. They're even faster at changing their clothes than I am (and I'm speedy), don't care if their breasts are sagging without a bra under their shirt, etc. This is how I want to be when I'm an old woman (i.e. not that much different than I am today)
