SAME OL' SAME OL'

4 x 150m (100 crawl, 100 backstroke)
=======
600 m (18 minutes)

Hmm...perhaps I'll be able to swim twice this week. Got in the water at noon and it seems like a great time to come. Nobody around.

I might pick up Emil early some days (school gets out at noon, and then he has an after-school program in the same building) and get him swimming. Lessons just aren't working for him, but I don't want to give up on getting him to learn to swim.

SI SWIMSUIT EDITION

4 x 150m (100 crawl, 100 backstroke)
=======
600 m (untimed)

Not SI as in Sports Illustrated, but rather SI as in sacroilliac joint.

Mine is already unstable due to pregancy. The day after my last swim, I ended up having incredible pain in my SI joint. I was afraid that it might be due to swimming, and my fears were confirmed today.

I could immediately tell that my SI joint is unstable as soon as I got in the water today. So breast-stroke was immediately ruled out. I could also tell that the normal rotations of the hip I do with backstroke and crawl were also a really bad idea. So I did this terrible flat on my stomach crawl using mainly my arms to drive me forward. Same thing on my back.
